Rosh Hashanah begins the start of the high holy days. To bring forth the new year, we bring in some old recipes with some new twists. Rosh Hashanah is about raising a noise, so we are taking some tame recipes and adding a little bit of noise to them. Rosh Hashanah Recipes are a great way to bring everyone together.
New Rosh Hashanah Recipes
Matzo Balls Soup with Some Kick – Matzo Balls soup is known for being a well balanced and often ‘safe’ option for most cooks. This year we’re going to add a little bit of sweet and a little bit of spice to the concoction with two simple additions. Orange Honey and Kosher Sriracha. You’re going to add two teaspoons of orange honey to the broth to add a little thickness and a faint amount of sweetness; this sweetness will add the necessary bond for the spicy drizzle of sriracha that we are going to add around the rim of the bowl conservatively!
Brisket and Tzimme Pot Roast – Blending of two great dishes can make great waves at any dinner meals. The well known, slow-roasted, brisket with the lesser known colloquially, Tzimme. By combining these two and letting stew for 8-12 hours we can infuse that fall-off-the-bone quality of brisket with the infused flavors of carrots, onions, and if you’re free to, garlic.
